This is my first digital painting tutorial using SAI Paint Tool, it's a fanart of SasuSaku pairing from manga-anime Naruto. Original time was 3,5 hours from sketch to finish.

Here's the finished pic :

I skip the sketching step and some failed strokes to make it fit with youtube's max length.

Tools:
-SAI Paint Tool
-Wacom Intuos 4
-Camtasia (for video capture and edit)

  • I love your drawing and painting style! i hope to improve my painting with this video, thanks for sharing!

PS:you're gallery in dA is awesome!!! i hope to see more of your work soon!

  • @yukihanachan013 Thanks so much XDD

  • very interesting! love the tutorial, especially those little tips. I never knew you could use the water tool to blend such fantastic results, which I guess is the reason I love watching speed drawings, you learn so much from them. thanks for the tutorial! it gave me a lot of insight on my much needed improvement of my coloring!

lol @ "don't over done it"

  • @DaEliminator you are very welcome :D

hahaha.. I myself had a phase for overdoing things with the water tool during my first times with SAI, and got a rude wake up call when I switch to Photoshop and finally realizing that I indeed depending much on this tool. I think maybe many people have the same experience.. ^^

  • it's great to see how you color! I like the tips you put on the side when you're doing something different from before because otherwise it's very fast

this is trivial, but what brush do you use to lay down the colors initially? and all the blending is done with water?

I hope you'll do more videos! thanks!

  • @snowpconnexion thanks :D

the brush, I just used the (simple circle) and spread brush. I plan to use and experience more different brushes later. And yes, all the blending were done with water tools.
