It's more of a personal preference. Some would prefer to hear Dennis Tufano sing The Buckinghams' songs, since he sang lead vocals on the original recordings everyone knows and loves. However, The Buckinghams' name recognition gives them an advantage over Dennis and his band. I think it's misleading for The Buckinghams to tour without Dennis because people come to their shows expecting to hear him sing the songs since it was his voice on the albums
