Punished for Hugging In an American High School

When I tell people about this from other countries, they cannot believe it. I suspect the USA is the only country in the world where someone could be punished for hugging their friends.

That rule was in my middle school too. But I never got detention because I never got caught. LOL

Now, what is wrong with hugging? I know it is PDA, but it is just an expression of gaining comfort from other and vice versa.

"Hugs lead to other things". With that perspective in mind, they become paranoid as they don't trust other people. Talking lead to other things, writing lead to other things also, so it is nothing different from talking and writing.
