Joe Biden's first appearance as Barack Obama's running mate in Springfield, Illinois brought up not only the baggage of some previous Biden comments that don't fit the message of the Obama campaign, but also raised worries that, being the fourth most senior member of the US Senate, Biden doesn't quite fit with Obama's message of change. Still, I believe Obama's selection of this senior, experienced US Senator who will give him candid advice to help him govern is a positive choice outweighing any baggage Biden might bring as I show with the clips and analysis in this video.

Sen. Barack Obama's entire August 23, 2008, speech introducing Sen. Biden as his running mate from which I took a short clip for my video is available on CSPAN's YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqpIe1bC6tA

Sen. Joe Biden's entire subsequent speech from which I took two short clips for my video is available on CSPAN's YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r56zQu00fiE

And, Karl Rove's entire interview with Bob Schieffer from the August 10, 2008, broadcast of "Face The Nation" from which I took a short clip for my video is available on the CBS website at http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4336254n

  • As I was watching, with the hindsight of Walin' Palin' *shudder*, the irony kept building, and when it freeze framed on rove throwing his hands back, I think I plotz'd!

How perfect that the Master of Darkness himself would espouse the horrible accusation on Obama before the fact, but then Mccain did it after Obama didnt!?! Or, "The play's the thing wherein I'll catch the conscience of the King"

Awesomely hilarious video to watch with hindsight, to be sure.
