Dear viewers,

In July 2008, I planted some sunflowers. When they were flowering I took some pictures. Then I took more and more pictures because they were so lovely. Finally when the plants died, I thought I could use these pictures to make a sunflower filmstrip documenting my learning journey with nature.

I am only a plant lover, not a plant expert. If you notice any non-factual recording, please kindly comment and let me have your advice and corrections. I would really appreciate. Thank you.

Regards,
Leo Juat Beh (JB)

Hello Marga. Sorry for not responding earlier because I never logged on until a while ago when I uploaded a new video. I am sure you have gotten plenty of pretty flowers from your 20 plants. It was a lovely experience to watch them bloom, each from a little bud to a huge sun-ray flower and then the little florets would appear over the days starting from the ring of the disc until they fully covered the whole flower-head. Yes, only such gorgeous sunflowers are fit for MJ, the King.

  • lovely and informative video. thank you. i am planning to grow sunflowers for the first time this year and i can only hope that i get it right. i bought the mammoth kind.

  • Thank you, Bekibooo, for your kind comments. I wish you good luck in your sunflower growing. Since you bought the mammoth kind of seeds, I hope your sunflowers will be BIG and the plants TALL. According to 2004 Guinness World Records, the honour went to a 32 inch (82 cm) sunflower head grew in British Columbia, Canada. As to the tallest sunflower in the world, it was grown in Holland measuring 25 feet 5.4 inches (7.8 m) tall.
