Griselda (a cerebellar hypoplasia "CH" cat) in Action

Griselda is one of our lobby cats at Kitty Motel at Best Friends Animal Society. She is a lady with grace. She often stays in one of totes in my office because she prefers to spend her day in a quiet relaxed peaceful area instead of our main lobby hallway which can be like a major busy street intersection or a kid's park where Montana starts chasing toys and stuff. Griselda has Cerebellar Hypoplasia like our Mouse or Masi (both of them were adopted!) or the new comer, Duke. Some people calls those kids "CH cats" or "wobbly cats." Basically, a part of her brain was damaged and she cannot balance or coordinate to move her muscle as well as others. How much they can control their movement depends on the cat. Currently, Duke has the most severe case of CH here in Kitty Motel. I think I can say Griselda has a moderate one. She can't walk or chase a pink ball like our little Masi (you can find her video on our uploads section), but Griselda can manage to take few steps before she falls down and she can go to a litter box and use it by herself and can eat without any assistance. Yesterday, I was delighted to see her laying down right in a middle of our lobby hallway. I don't know if she went there by herself or someone moved her there but it didn't matter. What mattered was she was going nuts over a new catnip toy. I don't remember seeing her in action ever! She was kicking and biting the catnip tube like a little girl. Well, I guess she went online and read Kitty Motel FB and found out about the wonderful special news: she's just got a new super sponsor mommy! It surely made her day. :)




(Now I hear her caregiver's talking about her on the phone, I think Miss G. did this all by herself and yes, that's Wolfie at the end.)

Griselda sure loves her 'Hot Cat" toy! I enjoyed her focus and enthusiasm.
