From the "Remember That Night: Live at the Royal Albert Hall" concert DVD (bonus features disc).

In the words of pinkclimax, "Buy the DVD, it's out of this world!"

  • Who's the kid on the drums? Where is Nick Mason ?

  • Steve DiStanislao, he'd played with 'Crosby, Stills & Nash' where Gilmour noticed him. And took along for the whole 'On and Island' tour.

Nick appears in the documentary from the DVD, and has played "Wish You Were Here" and "Comfortably Numb" for an encore at the Royal Albert Hall. Unfortunately, those aren't included... Nick's decision, supposedly...

  • for some reason this vid wont play for me

  • Have you tried switching to normal quality, and refreshing? The HQ versions sometimes won't work for me...

  • Syd wrote a monster and David knew how to feed it. Intense!

  • Even if David had a relatively blah lick-session, it'd still be gold. He can do no wrong on the guitar.

  • That is the stuff!!!

  • from the 60s to the 2000s dave still jams this.... he hated playin syds stuff too

  • Best!

  • Syd was not concerned with sounding musical he was shooting for other shores - just listen to the "tonight we make love in london" three video YouTube - it shows he was more interested in event and intensity than being some hot-shot musician, sounds more than recognizable music - similar attitude to Ornette Coleman form the late 70s whereas Gilmour = just another good guitarist playing licks over chord changes

  • He's a fine guitarist.

But there is something with Syd's playing that can not be covered by technically proficient guitarists, they are too concerned with 'music' to get the out of control tenuous and tenebrous tones and energy of his sound

  • Nice shot of Dave's picks at 00:05, I think he plays the pear shaped ones most of the time.

  • not great

  • Time is evil.

  • Age of Syd
