Syd wrote a monster and David knew how to feed it. Intense!

Even if David had a relatively blah lick-session, it'd still be gold. He can do no wrong on the guitar.

Syd was not concerned with sounding musical he was shooting for other shores - just listen to the "tonight we make love in london" three video YouTube - it shows he was more interested in event and intensity than being some hot-shot musician, sounds more than recognizable music - similar attitude to Ornette Coleman form the late 70s whereas Gilmour = just another good guitarist playing licks over chord changes

He's a fine guitarist.
But there is something with Syd's playing that can not be covered by technically proficient guitarists, they are too concerned with 'music' to get the out of control tenuous and tenebrous tones and energy of his sound

Nice shot of Dave's picks at 00:05, I think he plays the pear shaped ones most of the time.

Steve DiStanislao, he'd played with 'Crosby, Stills & Nash' where Gilmour noticed him. And took along for the whole 'On and Island' tour.
Nick appears in the documentary from the DVD, and has played "Wish You Were Here" and "Comfortably Numb" for an encore at the Royal Albert Hall. Unfortunately, those aren't included... Nick's decision, supposedly...

Have you tried switching to normal quality, and refreshing? The HQ versions sometimes won't work for me...
