@ZonixZ59706090 Okay, that's fair. I just don't think you should be so swift to dismiss current gen gaming. There are plenty of good games, don't let shit like Call of Duty/Fifa fool you.

@ZonixZ59706090 Caps lock, cruise control for cool LOLOLOL
umad bro?

I guess so.
I still love most of todays games, but a big percentage of them are bad, rushed and has no purpose of being released to last.
Developers who make games each year and let the previous one rot with hackers and mods.
Also one thing games used to be more difficult aswell ;P

@ZonixZ59706090 The reason we love the games from the early era of gaming is that they were completely original, there was nothing to copy, no franchises.

@ZonixZ59706090 And this should be an incentive for you to let go of your ideals of what gaming used to be, because of nostalgia critics like yourself, we are left with awful, stagnating franchises (case in point, Final Fantasy 13-2, or the same Zelda game being released year in year out).
As gamers we should be looking to the new releases and original ideas, and leaving the good games of past generations behind.

Sigh.
ORIGINAL ZELDA YES, ORIGINAL FINAL FANTASY YES.
DID I SAY ORIGINAL? NO.
IM JUST TRYING TO SAY THAT GAMES WERE BETTER IN THE PAST AND THEY WERE WORTH THE MONEY. NOT TODAY.

@ZonixZ59706090 Because games cost so much, gaming companies are afraid to take risks. Why do you think people like Tim Schafer have trouble getting work? It's because the distributors of games are afraid to fund projects that might not be successful, seeing as the games cost so much to make in the first place. That is why the biggest games are either franchises or bland first person shooters. No matter how amazing a game studio is, companies like EA will always be there to hold them back.

@ZonixZ59706090 Okay, keep complaining and I'm sure that'll change everything, but you cannot compare today's gaming scene to the past. Making a game today costs 8x as much as it did in the last console generation, god knows how much compared to the days of the PS1. Also, The PS1 was released damn near 20 years ago, and in your original post you mentioned Doom (19 years old), Zelda (Original was released 26 years ago) and Final Fantasy (25 years old), so yes, you did imply 20-30 years of gaming.

Quit complaining? Im gonna complain as much as I want, as I grow up as a kid during the age of N64, Playstation 1, PC games that were epic.
Did I ever say 20-30 years ago?
@th3on3andonlylov3r
I'm talking about the companies that could ACTUALLY MAKE GOOD GAMES?
Nintendo, Bungie, id Software,(oh yeah that's right the buildstone for FPS gaming, thanks id Software) Square Enix, CAPCOM, Namco, the list goes on.
Ever heard of Zelda Ocarina of Time? Final Fantasy? Doom? Wolfenstein?
Im not blinded, I love todays games, activision can always fuck them selves. But the games were mostly better in the past.
