The Moro Islamic Liberation Front have been fighting for self-determination for years and says it has millions of supporters and members.

But recently, it's been accused of harbouring fighters from al-Qaeda linked Jemaah Islamiyah and Abu Sayyaf.

mindanao is not for muslims alone. why are you claiming that this land belongs to you. you are not the only people who lived here a long time ago. there are indigenous people who lived here a long time ago too. its not just you muslims. your religion only came to this country when the malaysians and arabs came. mindanao is not for muslims.... its for the filipino people and if you dont like the idea then get the hell out of the country.
