Its Thursday July 9th 2009 and Im in Wheaton, Illinois. I was in Illinois visiting some friends and family and managed to get a little time to grab some footage by the tracks. I was able to capture two westbound Metra passenger trains followed closely by a group of Union Pacific MOW equipment. A westbound Union Pacific empty coal train makes an appearance as well as an eastbound Metra passenger train. So sit back, enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

  • I dont get why most metra TRains dont use their horns that often. I rode a metra from Algonquin to Union station and the driver didnt use it at all except for 1 crossing when a guy almost had his car clipped by the train.

  • Because they can't. :( I think most of the line is a quiet zone so they can't use their horns.

  • Great Railfanning of the Metra Station in Wheaton, Illinois! I was born in Wheaton and now live in Chicago. But I still take Metra to visit family. :-)

  • My wife has a relative who lives in Blackburn. In 2005 we came all the way from Sweden to visit her. We took the train from this station to the loop. Brings back some nice memories, thnx.
