Listen for Life ( http://www.listenforlife.org ) presents:
This song blends various tales of gossip to explain the beauty and alluring effect a woman has over men, and over a local man specifically. The song cleverly masks the identities of its characters by describing them as parakeets, iguanas and deer or by their daily routine. The parakeets court and dance around the fawn and the old man tells the priest that he would sacrifice the sacred to bask in her beauty. Urbina herself becomes a character as she scoffs at the "old man carrying flowers" calls her a "hag" telling tales. She urges her companion Don Jacinto to pull as she pushes to "stir things up" because this party is more like a funeral.
