@ihamoitc2005 You dont know cricket than ..... watch Shoaib being slaughtered by the indians in South Africa in WC 2003.... Thats just a blatant stupidity to judge a cricket on a single day performance....
People who have watched both Shoaib & Zahid bowl in person agree unequivocally that Zahid was the fastest....

@robelinda2 /watch?v=sd_xIcRE8DM . This clip is from Pak vs SA 2003. He made a comeback after a long time, more importantly after 2 Back surgeries(even the commentator mentions that he had lost 2-3 yards after the surgery) . Although he had lost some of his pace afterwards but he was still bowling around 140+ mark. Its easy to assume that he 155+ in his prime.

@robelinda2 Sorry, the way i said was sort of misleading. Shoaib said he was a yard quicker than him. He is still quicker than many bowlers though and someone may have already mentioned that but Lara said that he could not see the ball at all (in this particular spell). Lara said he was one of the fastest bowler he has ever faced. I will see if i can find the video.

@walE3dk No its all hype. Plus who would believe anything Shoaib says?
-
@robelinda2 Do you believe that he was the fastest of all time ? Shoaib Akhtar certainly says he was.
-
@mubee786 not sure what your point is. In fact it supports my argument - many came & bowled express for 1-2 seasons, got injured or were not that impressive after that and just faded away. people like thommo, Holding and Akhtar were much more consistent with express speed over a period of years.
-
@AIMANALI the dude injured his back and bowled with a bad back in a couple of tests which made him loose speed and that was that, he made a comback in late 90s but was not impressive so was eventually dropped cz of competition with akhtar who was younger and then quicker and then the likes of wasim and waqar were in the team too so really hard to break into that team

In my view, Shoiab was faster. Because of his abnormal bend in his arm. I believe a normal man with round arm action like Zahid or Waqar can not reach 100 miles per hour. Either u need an abnormal arm like Shoaib or jerky action like Mike Tait can get you around 100. Otherwise, 95-98 miles are a limit for normal human.

He was yard faster than Shoaib, Shoaib himself confirmed this,

He played a ODI at the WACA against the WI where he was lightning quick. Shiv Chanderpaul was the only batsman that handled him well. Shame injury ruined his career. He played in that Peshawar test where Taylor made his 300no and was a shell of the bowler he could have been. Ian Bishop was the other "could have been" of the 90s.

Watch Shoaib in every match in which he almost killed poor Indian batsman, Sachin always played him with wet pants (he always pissed in his pants when he faced Shoaib)
Rob I heard that in this match lara faced all six balls in this over and could not play any of them plus even Hooper on the other end said that was the quickest he faced - saying that the deliveries were just a blur. Can you post more of his deliveries in this match,. Thx
yes he was quick but there have been a number of bowlers over the years that bowled real quick for 1 -2 seasons and than just disappeared. Akhtar, Holding, Thommo were different - longevity
