The Hubertustunnel is made up of two separate tubes connected by five cross-tunnel passages. The tunnel project started in 2004. Boring of the two tunnel tubes took just under a year. Two lanes are available for each direction and the tunnels have a maximum speed limit of 50 km/hour. Measuring 1.6 kilometer, the Hubertustunnel is the longest city tunnel in the Netherlands.
