Insurance companies don't like paying for care. When a customer gets sick, they look for excuses to drop their coverage. They hire teams of sleuths to look for any small omission or mistake on an application form, so they can say, "Aha, they didn't fill out their application correctly. We're dumping them."

And since they wait until people are sick, this means that even patients diagnosed with something as serious as cancer can have life-saving treatments and critical surgeries canceled or delayed when the insurance company pulls the rug out from under them. Or else patients have to pay for it out of pocket.

Last week, Rep. Joe Barton asked executives from three insurance companies, "Doesn't it bother you that people are going to die ... because they forgot to tell you they were being treated for acne?"

Their response: It's unfortunate.

  • Big surprise! Greedy SOBs

  • And were suppose to trust the insurance companies to do the right thing ? It ticks me off to no end our politicians left these scumbags in charge of our health care..America needs another option!!! A public option and we didn't get it!!!

  • Whay is it when men makes over 2 or 3 million dollars, they become real dicks? Is it the true nature of the ape?

  • I predict that guillotines will be a growth industry.

  • The sooner the public option for government health care becomes law the better. Of course the greedy insurance executives are whining like dogs. Good. I hope they all go broke & their greedy executives end up in prison for extortion. They're no better than executives of banks, mortgage & brokerage companies who stole from innocent hard-working families in the attempt to satiate their loathsome desire & lust of money. Insurance companies are thieves who've had it good for way too long.

  • Thats because the insurance CEOs & execs are loathsome, greedy thieves who lie. Their only interest is theft & hustling money out of innocent hard-working families. Remember AIG? Its no coincidence the worlds largest insurance company is bankrupt & in tatters from outrageous executive salaries & bonuses. AIG was a symbol of greedy & incompetent insurance company executives. Providers of insurance are not legitimate businesses-theyre extortionists with no remorse for the heartache they cause.

  • disgusting.

  • This makes me want to throw up.
