Three neodymium magnets are positioned next to three steel balls each on a plastic rail. A loose ball is rolled gently to the first set and an amazing chain reaction occurs.

probably it does. cus energy will heap up and then release at the last one, but im not sure. if you want to know, just test it ;)

ball = attracted by magnet more the closer it gets, ball accelerates, hits magnet, force of impact transferred to last ball which is attracted to the next magnet more because its closer to it and the first ball left of the magnet (transferring the energy) reduces the magnet pullback. each cycle the moving ball will accelerate.
