What should I use as a container for the water, and how should I get rid of the water afterwards?

you can start off with a rubbish bin, garbage can - something big enough to dip the guitar into. Never emptied one, keep it for your next swirl. Although once you have cleaned up all the paint with newspaper it should be clean enough to pour away if you have to.

this is brilliant. i am going to get a few new guitars to try this myself. just one thing. i take it you spray this with clear laquer afterwards?

Very nice work. When you finish the guitar,do you sand after every layer of clearcoat?

yes, when I was doing all the bodies at once, they would get about 3 coats each in a day, then when dry give them a level sand ready for some more clear...repeat

Is it ok to dip my head in instead of a guitar? I sort of like the idea of having a multi-coloured swirl effect head.

Great job man. I'm gonna try smth like this on my strat. What kind of paints do u use? Is it something special so it doesn't go under the water and stays on the surface? And how thin is the swirl paint after it's dried out? Thanx.
