vintage synth demo by RetroSound

Some typical sounds from the Roland JD-800 Synthesizer. For me is the JD-800 one of the best Digital-Synthesizers ever made. Great digital pads and warm strings are the best sounds from the JD.

Sorry for the bad sound quality of my little cam. This one of my first synth vids on YouTube. Direct from the beginning.

View my many other JD-800 vids with much better sound quality on YouTube!

  • will a ROLAND (SH-201/SH201) ANALOG-MODELING SYNTHESIZER be hepful?

  • @4theonly1God

I think the SH-201 is one of the worst virtual analog synths ever. Much better is the first Microkorg.

  • ok.. (man those are two expensive machines but i need one) a yamaha dx27 wont be able to pick up the sound? i ask b'cause i have one but i'm berly getting to know it..

  • @4theonly1God

the DX synths are FM based synths without a filter.

check Roland JX-8P: no expensive and very good analog sound

  • besides Korg Monopoly...

  • It may be an old video... but GOOD =)

  • @DaNorthernLight ...it says in the title: (old vid)

  • Sounds like the synth theme from the 1986 Karl-Lorimar Home Video logo!

  • This music makes me think I'm in space... It would be awesome for some space game soundtrack. Great vid!

  • @4theonly1God I think you are wasting money buying a synth to recreate that sound. You can do it with almost any softsynth. I think you might be dissapointed with a Jx8p, its very powerful but will only play one sound patch at a time. Its a synth for someone that wants a warm fat synth tone, if you are creating modern music then most of it can be done with digital synths, either software or hardware. Most free softsynths will do.

  • @4theonly1God SH201 isn't worth it. Get a 2nd hand Yamaha AN1x or MS2000/Microkorg
