  • As far as raw being a true test of strength , he has broken the all time raw world record in the squat a few times. Also You see many raw world record holders who can not break world record in equipment. Raw or equiped wr holders are all strong. If it was so easy put your suit back on and go break an all time world record.

  • Phil has broke many world record squats in his weight class, he is a good lifter.

  • That is Natalie Carr not Laura Phelps. But whatever you do, don't follow starting strength for form in the squat unless you want to injure your back or hold your squats back. The squat has evolved time to move on. You do not want your head down elbows up like they suggest it will open your back up for injury. This also causes you to drop your chest which will hold your numbers back.

  • @sweattshopcincinnati AMEN! So tired of the raw zealots, STRENGTH is STRENGTH.

  • Nice squat!

  • I met Phil last year at the Westside Cert. Seminar. He was a hell of a nice guy... he also did a 60inch box jump with a 20lb weight vest on. That was awesome.

  • @BXAssasinatorXS They squat wide ,So the Suit can do the work, if he went narrow he would get buried, Raw lifting is a true test of strength, guys are getting up to 300lbs on their squats using gear, You would have to put in hours of training to achieve the full effects of gear, my squat dropped around 200 lbs. when I started training raw, but it is slowly coming up, no trickery just me! But you are right most raw lifters squat with a more closed stance........

  • @sweattshopcincinnati "good lifter" understatement!

  • @sweattshopcincinnati Natalie is fuckin hot

  • @BXAssasinatorXS read Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe for more information on that, a must-read for everybody who lifts.
