Group Lesson, 09/26/09

This was my first real riding lesson after my ankle healed up. Fortunately, I was in great company: Loren and Threez (bay, navy saddle pad), Mahlon and Jack (username maymayrox, chestnut horse), and Tamara and Wil (bay, light green saddle pad)! We worked on a number of different exercises and skills, including bending lines, rollbacks, and striding. It felt GREAT to be doing some higher jumping and to be part of such a positive, supportive learning environment. I did find my legs (esp. my right one) getting a little fatigued toward the end, but Duncan was such a good sport.

And...did you notice?...we're jumping the aqueduct fence without drama!! :) That in itself was an accomplishment! I sang to him on the way over it the first few times to keep him calm--maybe someday when I have a little more nerve I'll upload the original audio (I think I was singing "Dancing with Myself," if I recall correctly). Let's put it this way: there's a reason I'll never try out for American Idol.

Who's the rider at 1:23 ? The girl who rides the dark bay ( or black ? ) Horse, with the light blue saddle pad ? She's a great rider and the horse looks a bit caracterial ^^ Btw, your riding is really good, and Ducan... He's gorgeous ! I love buckskins ♥
