@CallMeHaSLeS are you serious? a groove is like this primal rhythm that carries you through a piece of music, you cant stop it because its so fucking amazing thats why i likened it to a "guide" which it is, yes it makes you feel good but its not exactly that like you put it so no im not wrong. you are right when you say its different to everyone but thats only the sound of the groove not what groove is but all im saying is that this bass solo is not based around any groove its a random show off
@MORGAN1992FREEM4N sadly you are really wrong about the groove concept. Groove is something you enjoy that makes you feel good, it doesn't matter if it is fast, slow, low or high. As long as it it makes you feel special it can be considered as groovy. You can't specify groove as just one exact thing, cuz it is different for every1.
@CallMeHaSLeS a groove is like a guide for a piece of music, a bassline is guide for rhythm like a drum. the best basslines are usually pretty simple and good bass solos are the ones based around the original groove. im not trying to be a hater but going up and sown scales and pentatonic is not a groove, its not based on a groove and is essentially bashing random notes as hard as fast as he can there is no soul or emotion in this solo its really is just showing off :(
@MORGAN1992FREEM4N well define groove? Cuz for me (and not only for me) it something personal and i think that for matt (and for ALOT other people) what he is playing is indeed groovy >.<
@CallMeHaSLeS sorry what part of my comment would bassist not agree with the part about this being not that difficult or about bass being about the groove because actually its pretty damn accurate
its actually not that difficult, speed does not make something amazing, bass is about a groove.....going up and down scales as fast as you can is not a groove neither a good bass solo, any bassist would tell you that...
@CallMeHaSLeS here let a genius explain it rather than myself /watch?v=2U2cOVgaKBM

@Hellion12321 Only a shame that once you really get down to the technique, the only thing impressive about it is that he's pretty fast.
