  • nice job. Are you gona do another conversion?

  • @TheMatke1 : Have done! Look at my Formula green videos...

  • Hi MSIL2 - go watch ep 6 - Les tell me a bit about the battery specs while he's at the drivers side door of the car (I drive that car in episode 6!)

  • In theory, yes, that'd be the way to go. In reality, friends have discovered that the current draw on the batteries is the stumbling point. Besides - the Capri is a front wheel drive!! Taking the gearbox out would be silly, as there still needs to be a way to drive those front wheels....

  • Hi Kearon

I'm thinking of converting my 1979 Mercedes 450SE (W116) to electric. It has a 3-gear automatic transmission. Question

Is it possible to convert an automatic car to electric so that all three gears still shift automaticly?

I know the car is quite heavy (1760kg - max. 2250kg), but in my opinion the beauty of its design, quality and technology would just be underlined with an electric conversion and also; approx. 16-20 Liter/100km fuel consumption.

I thank you for your answer in advance,

  • Dude this is nice, i'm 16 and i'm all open to convert my first car i will be having in few month

  • I have some questions about Mr. Pulkowski's daewoo lanos. What is the name of the battery is he using? Also, what are the battery specs (like voltage rating, 20 hr amperage rating and such)? I just it incredible that he fitted 15 batteries in that little lanos.

  • Do you guys know that with an electric motor you dont need a transmission because the motor have high torque, The transmission is for motors that cant run in low rpm if your motor run in low rpm you dont need a transmission this will make your car faster.
