A friend told me I was obsessed with getting organs. I said maybe he was right, but if I had 5 guitars people would just call me a collector. Fact is, we live in a time when you can get a once $20,000 musical instrument- the king of instruments, for $20. I love playing organ and feel very fortunate that there were once people who shared the same passion in droves. I am very pleased with all of my organs and can tell you exactly which is best for what style. I put in an ad for a Rialto II. Got 1!

Ah' life in the big city...of unwanted organs- Columbus OH
Since my last comment 3 months ago have already gotten 2 completely different organs w/ 25 & 32 pedals- A Wurlitzer 4500 free & works!), Thomas Palace III $100 works great except Band box, even got all service manuals! Man is it big! The Wurly 625t has turned out to have a surprisingly very nice flute tone. After removing a resistor from the internal Leslie's RCA plug to ground it can get Wunderlich even. Seriously fun organ!

Jack: I was also impressed to know your friend (BB) is improving his skills in videoing and uploading your performances. We are not done yet. Hat off to you guys.
I just picked up two different organs in the past month that I am hoping to dedicate for playing and learning many theater styles on. First I bought a Thomas Californian 287 'Theatre' model for very little. It is from 1977 and has 24 bass pedals and theater tabs. Last week I found another organ because it was only $100 and in perfect looking AND working condition- A Wurlitzer 625T. It has lots of voices and it does sound nice, but with only 13 pedals. Of these two organs which would you prefer?

That's a tough decision because neither organ has the better tibia tones that you will enjoy over a long period of time. Get something soon anyway.
I got several of the biggest & best organs for free. I was able to pick and choose among quality free machines. Reject most anything with 13-pedals.
Look for Hammond, Technics, Baldwin and Gulbransen. Conn is pretty good, too if it is recent.
Ask at the local senior centers. Free and working!
