A more or less step by step process to remove the door panels in a 2011 Jetta. Simple tools, patience, and some muscle is all you need.

  • Thanks a lot for the video, I'm getting ready to install Alpine sps-610's in front and 610c's in the rear or something close in quality. Was there any problem with the radio after the new speakers were installed? I've heard that the factory head unit will sometimes not recognize an aftermarket speaker.

    Thanks again.

  • @fordon20s I cannot speak for the Jetta personally, his speakers are run by an amp. But I have installed speakers into cars with stock radios and never had a problem.

  • Sir - which wire did you tap into for remote out?

  • @MotoringM I dont know exactly. I just found one that only had power when the key was on.

  • are the RF components? where did you mount the xovers? if no amp, can I install inline with the rest of the system until I get an amp? Meaning...run the speaker wire to the cross over and then the cros over feeds the speakers? Thanks for your kind reply....

  • @MotoringM They are not components. Look at all the other videos I have on this car and you will see what I did.

And if I under stand you correctly, what you are saying should work.

  • I had no idea how I was going to install my sound system in my '12 GLI until i watched this video. True lifesaver lol

  • Snap On Makes Panel Poppers for this!

  • thanks

  • Thanks man

  • Nice vid. I am used to taking off Mk3 and Mk4 door panels, but wen I got my 2011, I was lost and had no idea how they put them in. For some reason, everything in this car seems to be more fragile to me than the previous years and I have been afraid to take much apart. Its just me though, I'm sure. I should remember after all these years that they are German so they only understand force, lol.

  • Thanks bro! Your vid helped to keep me from destroying my panels. Hope to see more vids on the jet!

  • did you go right to the fuse box?
