The editing sucks.

...guys he probably has a short amount of time to play and when you're playing all the time sometimes your voice struggles. you can tell that he can't hit his falsetto notes so he has to hit it in his chest voice. if you listen to his unmastered videos on here simply done with a cheap camera you would know he doesn't need studio quality in fact i think the studio sucks away his natural sound.

all the songs are all chopped up is all chopped up

this is called originality, unrehearst, live. you don't hear artist these days perform in this manner because they are digitally master in the studio to sound amazing. true talent is what is before you. a true musician needs only his instrument and his/her voice to make a song worth buying. even a good rapper only needs a beat. the fancy stuff only makes the artist sound better but the artist is the singer.

i seen his first performance on american idol when he drove off in his ford. i thought for sure he would go on in the competition. i went to school and didn't follow the competition. earlier i was watching some auditions and saw him. when i seen that he been voted off, my jaw dropped. someone got fired on american idol because this guy is going to blow up. he reminds me of nirvana. i'm sure Simon knew what he let slip through his English fingers. the one who got away. signed w/o any competition.

YES, EVERYONE NEEDS SINGING LESSONS. It doesn't have to do with singing nicely, it has to do with NOT HURTING YOUR VOCAL CORDS!
There are very few people though, who can project their voice fabulously and not hurting their vocal cords, without any special training, but I simply don't think Josiah is one of them;he forces his voice in ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE of his youtube videos, and curiously ALL HIS LIVE PERFORMANCES in youtube. Now, don't get me wrong, He IS an AMAZING COMPOSER AND PERFORMER

get your info straight. he was sick and losing his voice for this performance. he doesn't need singing lessons. not everyone does. He doesn't hardly force his voice ever. he was doing it more than usual because.. have you ever tried to speak while losing your voice? eventually you get mad and try to force out what you're saying anyway. but you would never do that because you would develop cancer. you can keep your voice, i'll take josiah's singing and songwriting.
what happened to his beautiful voice???
