Learn how to install a capacitor in your car. Doing so will help your amplifier get the power that it needs to perform properly. In this video, we used a Install Bay IBCAP1F, a Stinger APV44 Battery, the MTX TC6004 amplifier, and Kicker Power/Ground Wire.

  • alright to clear this up, caps are not batteries........they are a bandaid fix!!....in my system it helps stabilize voltages and reduces drop on punchy songs....songs that have a continuous bass note iE: tones used for db will see next to no difference with a capacitor because the cap will empty in less then a second..... db competitors prefer not to use them because when empty they suck juice off the battery to try constantly fill back up.

  • @scootbmx01 Bandaid fix...We like it!

  • I just bought 2 12s. Alpine type R (1800w) and i wonder if i need the capacitor? If i do wht one should i get? And how big does my amp have to b?

  • @asjams Regardless of what you may hear about capacitors, a 2 farad capacitor should do the trick.

  • Capacitors DO NOTHING !!!!!! ITS A MARKETING SCHEME !!! DO YOU EVER WONDER WHY THEY LOOK COOL ? ITS SO YOU BUY IT THEY DONT EVEN STOP LIGHT DIMMING OR VOLTAGE DROP !!! GET THE BIG 3 UPGRADE AND / OR BIGGER BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR

  • @SubZeroSkyLine Let us clear things up here. You are very correct in saying that a bigger battery combined with the big 3 is the best way to upgrade your electrical system in your vehicle. However, Capacitors are not completely usless. If used correctly they can aid your electrical system. You just have to make sure to have a capacitor that has the correct amounts of farads and has a proper ground. They will only SLIGHTLY fix light dimming or voltage drops.

  • is this only for stereo applications or can you also use this to balance voltage drop when you use all the electronics in the car simultaneously? lets say, car stereo and bass very loud, every window rolled down simultaneously, brights on, a.c, adjustable seats being moved, wiper blades on high and any thing else that may use electricity being operated all at once? i was thinking about this because windows roll up faster one at a time.

  • @19Freddy22, i strongly suggest against getting a single amp for each sub unless they are the exact same model number

  • @davidhay18, good battery adn big 3 should be sufficient

  • @jody024, exactly if you have the space then batteries will be heaps better but if you dont caps are the next best things and if you want the best of both worlds you can get compact power cells etc:)

  • @woofmeow369, have you done big 3 upgrade and got a good deep cycle battery? if so then a 2farad if not do this big 3 and get a good battery first

  • @mardegan86, your cap turns on but reads 00? what capacitor is it? ummm as for your amp not turning on it could be a number of things... if you have a multimeter check the power at your amp to see if your amp is getting power (should be atleast 12v when the car is off and upto 14.5 with the car on) then let me know

  • @scootbmx01 hey i installed a capacitor and the digital only shows 00 it doesnt show any number and i cant get my amp to turn on do u have any idea what the problem could be, thanks

  • I have 2 12 mofos, 1500rms and 2700 peak, what cap should I get?

  • @asjams, ok first off you go by rms aka continuous power...... your subs are about 600 rms each....so you need an amp that will do 1200rms @ 1 ohm (if you got the dual 4 ohm version) or @ 2ohm (if you got dual 2's). as for a capacitor i strongly suggest doing the big 3 upgrade and also get a deep cycle battery and also a voltage gauge :) if you still want a cap general rule is 1farad per 1000 rms so id get a 1.5 or 2 farad for yours :)
