I had a 1980 528iA back in the eighties - loved it - much better resolved shape than the later E28 - love the sloping bootlid and rear lights...

Stupid Europeans get all the cool bumpers.....in the states, the government decided that we are too dumb to keep from bumping into each other, hence the picnic table safety bumpers.
I wish the gub'mint trusted us.....wait, I guess the rest of the world dosen't either!
