@RichAtCamp it was later proven that the murderer was the father of the guy she was having an afair with, and Tom was hung, an innocent man

@hg1110 There was a lot of unsubstantiated suspicion that Tom Dula had another girlfriend before/during Laura and the other woman stabbed Laura with Tom's knife in order to frame Tom for the murder, out of spite.

Prolly one of them 'dam yankee' carpetbaggers done it and framed poor ole Tom.
Joking, lol, but there's probably a lotta people who believe something like that.

Tom's girlfriend, Laura got pregnant from another man and Tom was not happy with that, so he killed her. She died for her mistake and he died for defending what he thought was right.
