I was in third grade in that school. I was the last person of the students out that door. I blew a kiss and waved good bye...

I was one of the last classes that left the school in 09. I saw the demolition on the news, I was devastated that my friend was crying on the news. It was so sad, I had to turn off the TV. I sat in silence wondering why? They had destroyed many memories, I never saw a single one of my class ever again. They split up, and i never saw them again.

Wow, That must be sad to see a childhood memory tumbling down into pieces, I feel sorry for you. :(

my school was built in '57...

Sucks when they demolish decent buildings like this. A school in Detroit was demolished not long ago. It had a siren on it, too.
btw my school has those types of PA speaker hanging around, but they arent used. Neither is the old alarm system. I hope when I get older I will be able to obtain alarms from it, and maybe even a PA speaker.Look at slight bottom right (and you can see a firebell, or maybe just a school bell (4:24). Sad that happend, they shoulda added on, probably wouldve been cheaper.

@Tabby266 That 'bell' you see is just an excavator bucket shining in the sun. Good luck obtaining a speaker or fire alarm. My school never upgraded from those speakers. They worked perfectly. They DID upgrade their fire alarm system, I'm guessing late '80s to mid '90s (when did the Edwards 892-2B's come out?). It was upgraded from Simplex 4050s to Edwards 892-2bs. I can tell because there was still A 4050 right next to an Edwards 892-2B.

@LNERMallard then why is there conduit running from it to a box on the wall? XD
sucks about the model 2, there's a t-bolt next to my school...is it gona get replaced soon? I hope not!!! And yeah, I think when im older I will try to obtain this horn that is a circle. Really, the horn is circular!!!

@Tabby266 Oh, You mean that one on the wall? Yeah, that was a fire bell that got replaced by a Simplex fire alarm outside. So that bell was rarely used.

i hate to say this, but i doubt they will save the siren. you might be able to get a worker to take it down for you, but most likely it will be demolished. the same fate came to a poor CLM siren on a flour mill, too.

@cheetawolf I can almost guarantee that the siren will be destroyed. The demolition crews didn't even save the fire alarms that STILL worked. If they didn't give me a brick from the school, I'm certian they won't give me the siren.
