Without a doubt, I think that Sale of the Century and Split Second were some of the best drama-filled game shows that has ever existed. Go figure that this would be the show that Tom Kennedy hosted the longest. Great show.
Loved this show when I was a kid---these questions are much harder than later game shows. Was there another contestant that had the same hard luck as Marvin when it came time to picking out the car? I recall a younger gent who finally won 5 games after batting zero with the cars, then took his time on the last show and smiled (or smirked) as he leaned on the front of his car. Remember that one in particular. Thanks for posting!

That was the Presidential of all speed rounds.
I wonder if they ever needed medics on standby for Countdowns as tense as that.

Gotta give Marvin props as a family man, he went for the wagon!
(Which was $6200 back then? Wow.)

@Sonic3000 It was first used in the Las Vegas Hilton version of "Let's Make a Deal".

@Sonic3000 @Sonic3000 ...yes, and also at 4:27. that was the fanfare from the announce of the Big Deal value...
"The Big Deal today is worth -drum roll- $15, 750* (cue this specified music)"
*-...or some amount Dean Goss would announce.
