We finally got the torpedo system working! This is on the Typewriter Repairmen's underwater ROV "Babs", for the 2010 National Underwater Robotics Challenge to be held in Chandler June 11-13.

The torpedo will be used to deliver the "radio tag" to the target, which is a metal cutout of the Loch Ness Monster "Nessie". These are the first three attempts to hit the practice target (a realty sign) from about three, five, and seven meters away. The first two times it works great! last shot misses a bit.

Also the ROV is listing just a tad, as we need to do some rebalancing after adding guards over the thruster propellers.

Also, I HAVE AN RC SUB THAT NEEDS A TORPEDO TO LAUNCH!!!

  • @smartsoldier132 There is some info on how we made the torpedo on the web page, but it is not detailed exactly, you'll need to figure things out for yourself.
