@Xehanort4 Consider how long it usually takes to make an FF title like XIII, XII, etc. My thought process is that, and especially, because they pushed this sequel out only a few short years after XIII they simply didn't have the time to devote like they usually do. The other is that they've ripped out and stomped on our hearts enough through the story and light music is a nice balance to that. I personally enjoy most of the music lyrics or no, but to each his/her own.

@TheHikariOne Yeah it's kind of hard to top the events of an FF game if you're going to make a sequel to it. Although, the ending of XIII-2 obliterated all of the lighter atmosphere within the game. If there's going to be a XIII-3 it will probably be very dark.

I too was a little dismayed by 13-2's lighter atmosphere ( I remember a few years back they were saying 13-2 wasn't going to be lighthearted at all), but I've come to think of all 10/13-2's glee as the result of all the good the previous characters ushered in after thier world-changing feats...
