Social anxiety treatment
1] What is the difference between fear and phobia?
Fear is a normal psychological phenomenon to humans. Its purpose is to indicate the presence of danger. It allows the individual to generate means and resources to resolve stressful situations.
A phobia is a disorder characterized by intense fear, persistent, excessive and irrational objects or specific situations, usually accompanied by increased anxiety and a pronounced tendency to avoid them.

2] Can excessive heat cause me to have a panic attack?
What can trigger a panic attack is the allocation or subjective interpretation to be given to the symptoms caused by heat.
For example: If I believe the burden and excessive perspiration, caused by the intense heat, are unsafe or that my life is in danger, it is possible to activate a panic attack. Not by heat itself, but by thinking about it.

3] Is it true that meditation works as a panic attack treatment?
Meditation is one of the many resources that can be applied to relieve anxiety. Relaxation exercises: For example, training in diaphragmatic breathing, muscle relaxation or tension, are also effective in decreasing the discomfort of anxiety. It is important to assess which resources are most appropriate for everyone, because for some people certain exercises can enhance physical and cognitive symptoms of anxiety.

4] How do I overcome phobias?
The treatment that has shown greater effectiveness in helping people overcome phobias or any anxiety disorders is known as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as it enables long-term achievements.
The cognitive component focuses on identifying, challenging and modify erroneous cognitions that determine the appearance of anxiety and fear of a situation or object.

5] How does alcohol affect Anxiety?
Alcohol may interact with anxiety in different ways.
Often works as a social lubricant, and that its use can help reduce anxiety levels, easing social restrictions and inhibitions.
Unfortunately, these benefits contrast with the dark side of alcohol use, including:
Poor balance, memory and prejudiced opinion, problems with analytical thinking. This damage can lead a person to feel more vulnerable, and anxious.
Also it can lead to a feelings of deep sadness, and sometimes panic attacks may occur.
If the person uses alcohol as a resource to relax it is possible that this pattern is repeated continuously. The danger of this is the development of an addiction to alcohol.

6] Is stress the same as Social anxiety?
Usually they are terms used interchangeably, although they are not.
One difference is that in the case of stress, it implies demands and pressures.
Meanwhile Social anxiety is an inner experience.
People with anxiety are perceived as irrational. Someone may feel anxious without knowing why, or in response to a concern that it recognizes as not being significant.
"Stress" means driving force, demand for energy.
Perceived stress is more reasonable, also it is seen as a response to new challenges, new situations.

  • A healthy body holds a healthy mind! It is important to eat four square meals in a day, avoid too much junk food

  • The first thing to do is to accept that there is an issue and that you do tend to overreact to certain situations, news or people. Once you have accepted that you do panic at times you have actually come halfway in your attempts to deal with panic attacks. PS this is a great program

  • It's alright to be scared of a poisonous snake that is quite rational. However, if you are anxious or scared in normal situations that is categorized as an irrational fear, this is probably caused by an incorrect thinking pattern that is triggered in your brain by some external stimuli
