Figure Four Deadfall Trap Demonstration - Wilderness Training, Outdoor Survival, Bushcraft | IPNA

This is a modified figure four deadfall trap. It was made by Adam Wonski during a Basic + Advanced Bushcraft weekend in September 2009.

This particular trap improves on the traditional figure four deadfall trap that has a tendency to be difficult to set up.

The improved version is bidrectional, easy to hold with two fingers, and can be set up using only one hand for the trap leaving the other hand to maneuver the deadfall.

This trap was taught to the instructors here at IPNA by Jason Knight from Alderleaf Wilderness School.
