I admire anyone who can tackle an instrument as a hobby. Most people think their ability to learn stops in their twenties. I don't think I made the kind of progress you are making at the piano in your seventies when I studied as a child and I was considered gifted. Keep up the good work and you wil be ripping thru the preludes and fugues like it was the morning paper.

It is a Yamaha Baby Grand..I bought it used from our son Abel Zavala...who is a wonderful artist....

By the way, I was admiring the piano. I'm in the market for a new keyboard. What kind of keyboard are your playing?

Haha, not bad for one week of practice by an old timer like yourself :)
Don't rush the tempo, and remember to learn in parts. Don't start all over at the beginning if something goes wrong, instead try to find points in the play where you can easily jump in to. This prevents the problem of the first few notes being perfect, while the further you get the worse the performance becomes! Also, begin with something easier like bach prelude nr.1 (bwv 846).. Excellent beginner piece!

Wow, that sounds really good! U must be practicing a lot. Thanks for sharing it with us, I kinda felt that 24 was way too late for me to start learning how to play piano, but I guess not:) Good work!

Thank you, I practice almost every day about one or more hours, some days I am there most of the day, just because I enjoy the progress,I use the Hanon exersizes....1, 5,7,8... it is really fun to hear them get smoother....I try never to see anything a hard or impossible...
