Ethan Hunter is getting to be such a big boy!! He is now wearing 12 months clothes, and weighs about 18 pounds:) He'll be 6 months old on May 6, 2010. We are planning to start him on solid foods when he is 6 months. Mommy got together with other mommy's and Ethan's little friends this last week at a 'Baby Food Making Party', and came home with a bunch of organic vegetables to freeze! I never thought steaming and pureeing vegetables and freezing it in ice cube trays could be so fun and exciting! I can't wait to see what he thinks of it!
Ethan has changed so much in the last few months. He is now babbling more, with his new favorite sounds "dada dadi", smiling and laughing all the time, recognizing mommy and daddy, playing and bouncing away in his exersaucer/bouncer, grabbing at EVERYTHING and putting it in his mouth (his favorites are my hair, glasses, and cups). He started rolling over from his back to his belly in mid March. Now he is more than content, straightening his arms to push up his chest, playing with his toys while on his belly. These last few weeks he has learned to roll from his belly to his back. Now everything on the living room floor is fair game for rolly polly Ethan. He just goes to town, rolling over and over!! He is exploring all of the furniture with his hands and mouth! On Friday, he started sitting up occasionally with no hands, flinging out his arms and playing with toys. He is taking consistent naps during the day, and still up a few times during the night. He is aware of every little sound and movement in his environment now, so nursing him sometimes takes awhile to complete! :) As he becomes distracted and wants to look all around or play with my hair or bat my face and grab my nose! Ethan and mommy have play dates once a week, go to Mother Goose on the Loose at the library on Wed and Fri, and we're going to start a music class as well as swim lessons next month! This is the most fun stage yet! We laugh EVERYDAY until our faces hurt!!
