Obama's Promise

In his August 9th Weekly Address, Obama promised "I won't rest until everybody who's looking for a job has one"... just weeks before he left for Martha's vineyard. Do you suppose he's not resting? He's even supposed to play a round of golf with Tiger!

You are somewhat out of touch ... President Obama has been on vacation 78 days from 2009 to 2011. At the three year mark into their first terms, George W. Bush spent 180 days at his ranch in Crawford, Texas and Ronald Reagan spent 112 vacation days at his ranch in California. Of course, staff was around all three Presidents on vacations and all White House aides argue that the commander-in-chief is never “out of touch” with work.

No, not out of touch at all. Neither George W. Bush - in spite of 180 days in Crawford, nor Ronald Reagan with 112 days in California, neither of them promised "NOT TO REST UNTIL ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A JOB HAS ONE".

Kinda reminds me of OJ promising not to rest until HE finds Nicole Brown Simpson and and Ronald Goldman -- then spent all that time looking for the killer on the golf courses of America...

The worst recession we have been in since the depression, with George W, certainly adding plenty to the national debt by cutting taxes during a time of war, first President to do this. Breaking Clinton's buget surplus in the process. And you want Obama in the "Oval" 24/7 cleaning up that mess. What institution are you in ? All Presidents need breaks, and under the dire circumstances we are in Obama is doing a good job. Get Romney in there it will be more Reaganomics, a failed policy.

But HE wanted it. HE campaigned for it. HE raised and spent MILLIONS of dollars for the privilege of being there. HE promised to cut the deficit in half by now - it's tripled instead. HE promised unemployment below 8% by now... it isn't.

You talk about unemployment above 8% and why Obama hasn't gotten it below. There are 2 ways out of this recession, that is the track that Bush put us on, September of 2008, with Obama following through. The alternative is austerity with unemployment at 12% or higher, google it. It takes Two to Tango here and that is Congress & the President, and it seems the Republicans are content with sitting on their hands. We need to raise taxes and cut spending. Our taxes are at their lowest since 1951
