  • A polyarchy could be UPS. I think it's too broad a term for what the reality of what the government currently is. Semantics. I'm fresh out.

  • Actually it's a polyarchy.

  • Exactly, it's a representative republic.

  • The U.S. is not a true democratic state. I wish people would stop calling it that.

You can't talk about the wonders of the Superdeligates and claim it's democratic.

  • Good show Jacob. The superdelegates concern me. They should call themselves superDECIDERS! Spicy!!

Now come on down to Texas, and figure out why we've got this ridiculous primary / caucus combo. My friends are pretty intelligent and plugged-in, but NONE of them understand that a THIRD of their vote won't count if they don't caucus!

The candidate whose supporters are better informed, and willing to go the extra mile, will win Texas. And the candidate who wins Texas, well... Go Obama!

  • republicans dont have superdeligates. And there is no need for them.

  • Unfortunately, Ron Paul is exactly the reason superdelegates exist. If some "nutjob" wins the primaries, the party bosses can bring it all back into the mainstream.

I don't think he's a nutjob, but from the Party viewpoint, he is.

  • republicans dont have superdeligates.

remember that political parties were introduced after the government was set up, and our founders talked about the desire to suppress political parties because they would have a negative impact on the govt. boy were they right!

political parties can put whoever they want forward as the nominee. these primaries are another way to trick voters into thinking they have a choice.

  • It would be great for you to interview the Republican counterpart of this guy. I would love to see that.

  • No its a Democratic party deal not Republican.
