A SECOND CHANCE examines the correctional system of New York State through the moving testimonies of Ellis "Bo" Stokely and Richard Hampton, two people who have regained their freedom. Hearing about their life stories, some of the decisions that brought them to be incarcerated, and the efforts that they make to readjust to society gives a deeper understanding of the challenging lives of those who have criminal records.

Hey big! this man served 31 years behind bars. I think he did his time. He's talking to people about how to stay out of the system, give him a break!! Guess you're the one out of billions that's perfect huh! I'd hate to be like you. For real! God forgives - even if you don't!
Ummmm....are we suposed to feel something for these crooks? Come on, Stokely murdered someone in the mid-70's. And Hampton is a crook, and not a good one at that! Hampton has 4 NYS DIN numbers...(attempted robbery, drug dealing (2x's), Grand Larceny)! Hampton is currently locked up again, in Sing-Sing, for selling drugs!! These are career crooks people, you cannot trust them!
With all due respect, you have the wrong Hampton. Mr. Hampton is not currently locked up. He is starting college next week. ( Check the birthdate on the DOCS website)
I do believe that we should feel something for people with criminal records, although it shouldn't be sorrow or pity. We should feel that they deserve to be treated as equal citizens once they serve their debt to society.
Actually, "murdering someone" and being convicted for 2nd degree murder are not the same thing. If you commit a crime, and someone dies as a result of the commission of that crime, even if someone else does the killing, anyone who was involved in that crime can be convicted of 2nd degree murder. As in this case, I believe, based on what I have read.
u know,i am an ex con.a mistake when i was 18.i did 4 years plus 1.i respectful took full responsiblity for my crimes and regreted it.and do today.now i have 2 sons and a wife 6 years later and foreman of a crew.but because of ppl like u,thats as far as my life goes.but then u bit@* when ur robbed by a repeat offener that cant get somewhere in society.i dont want ur pity.i pity u for be self centered and no forgiveness.if all ex cons were as u think,u'd be the one locked up (in ur house).
