The Lord entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, a beast of burden, a beast of peace, a beast of humility. Donkeys are stubborn animals and yet when the Lord rode on it, the donkey turned tamed, docile and meek. When the Lord is in our hearts, we will turn meek and humble of heart. The donkey recognized his creator, he was humbled and put himself at the service of his Lord and Master. We should do the same. We should put ourselves in the service of the Lord with humble and contrite hearts. The Lord ordered his apostles to untie the donkey. Christ comes to liberate us from sin through the sacraments of Baptism and Penance, by His passion, death and resurrection. If we serve the Lord we need to liberate ourselves from the many bondages that shackles us. Lord, enter into our hearts and set us free. Hosanna to the Son of David!
