What is CrossFit? CrossFit is an effective way to get fit. Anyone can do it. It is a fitness program that combines a wide variety of functional movements into a timed or scored workout. We do pull-ups, squats, push-ups, weightlifting, gymnastics, running, rowing, and a host of other movements. Always varied, always changing, always producing results. Kids, cops, firefighters, soccer moms, Navy SEALS, and grandmas all do CrossFit. In fact, hundreds of thousands worldwide have followed our workouts and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes. Welcome.

I was a wrestler in my younger days, which is about as tough as it gets in sports. I also played football. After college I did MMA and also lifted weights and exercised at what most would consider an elite level for years. I've basically done it all.

So, when I started crossfit, I thought I would go in there and be fine. But I was dead WRONG! It kicked my ass big time and still does! I've never done anything so hard in my life. For those of you hating on it, I challenge you to give it a try.

Crossfit is form of Circuit Training which has been around for decades, a misnomer for many is that Crossfit invented Circuit Training. Circuit Training in it's general sense is doing a wide range of exercises for whole body training effect, it could also be varied also with endurance, speed, explosiveness, power, agility drills/exercises also, Track and Field athletes have been doing this for many years and many football programs have done this for years; Crossfit $uccessfully advertised it.

I will say this... if you're not training for a specific sport or activity... and you're not trying to get as huge as possible (like a bodybuilder)... then yes, Crossfit does the best job in getting you in OVERALL, functional good shape... but if you have a specific goal (like me), then do whatever specific workout is best for your goal.

Maybe their aim ISN'T aesthetics? Someone could turn your argument on its head by asking what is the point in mass and looking good, when you probably can't even deadlift your bodyweight, or do a clean etc. The point of crossfit is relative to the individual, just like bodybuilding is. Let crossfitters do what they want to do.
