Something to Be Proud Of

Video somewhat like my other one with some of the same pictures but I think the song says a great deal. I got home from Iraq in July of 08 and two months later i volunteered for Afghanistan. I am definitly proud of my military service to this great country and the good things that I know we are doing in Iraq and here in Afghanistan even though the truth isn't being reported by our own media. It's a shame that less than 1 percent of the US population serves in the military, I find nothing more fulfilling than serving the United States of America , the greatest country on earth even if it is thankless at times.

@WFSW32 My ancestors come from the Blackfoot Tribe, I am A Vet, A Biker and a Law Enforcement officer. I wear many hats. It's true that our ancestors were not treated well. Remember: Those who forget the past are doomed to relive it. All we can do is our best to make our land the best there is. A great many Native Americans were American soldiers that served with honor. Remember Laurie Pestewa a native american who died in Iraq. Let's bring them home safe.

If I could physically serve (suffered multiple knee collapses).... I would be on the front line right now! I love this great country and would defend her completely. Thank you for your service! My grandfather would look bad on me if I didn't thank you all for your service. He served US Navy 24yrs. Vietnam & Korea. God bless and thank you!!

@AlphaMale593 For those who don't recognize it. The Native American played a very big part in American culture and history. And you are very right, if it was not for the Natives. Iwo Jima, Tarawa, Guadalcanal could of had have different results.

@apc467 I know what Communism is all about. Most "Communist" countries are actually dictatorships and the only real Communist "leader" was Lenin. He was the one to actually have done Communism the right way except he was the leader and in Communism there is no leader. But I see with the resources part and that is true.

Don't get me wrong though, I would rather live in America than many other countries in the world, but you guys REALLY aren't as uniquely "free" and awesome as you think/are told you are. No offence, Britain (my home country) isn't perfect eaither.

My fundamental problem with the USA is that it claims to be the pinnacle of freedom and democracy, but in reality Americans are no more free than any other western European nationals (accept for the fact that you guys hate gays, atheists, anyone with even slightly left-wing beliefs, blacks, Mexicans etc) and your entire infrastructure is dictated by private companies, therefore making the democratic political process almost void. I left home when I was 17, didn't finish high school till I was 19 i'm 20 now and didn't get to walk in graduation. I came back home 2 months later and my mom was happy to see me. But she told me she was sad I didn't get a graduation. I decided to join the army, talking to my recruiter about possible MOS's and going to MEPS in a few weeks. Just dawned on me she is going to get a graduation soon and she will have something to be proud of.
