it's a '87 chevy r20 pickup with a tbi 350 small block. it's got a lunati bracket master II cam with 284 degrees of advertised duration (intake and exhaust) and .458" lift (intake and exhaust), an edelbrock performer tbi intake, a 1 inch throttle body spacer, flowtech headers and true dual exhaust with purple hornies glasspacks dumping in front of the rear wheels. i'm running 64cc "93-up swirl port heads and flat top pistons, a TH350 trans and a corporate 14 bolt rear end with 4.10 gears. Best run 13.84@99mph in the quarter mile. Top speed (redline limited) 133mph.

  • i have a 390 (i know its a ford) but i was wondering what you think of the cams lift and duration and such? i was gonna get the BMII with the 300/300 duration. woudld it lope more??? im 16 and kinda learning the ins and out of this. the truck would be used for cruising the street (not really a DD) and racing (drag)

  • @deanschool I'm not sure of the exact cam you are talking about but if its 300 degrees of duration it should lope like my truck. Lobe separation angle and intake/exhaust overlap have a lot to do with lope as well. The less lobe separation and more overlap the lopier it will be, but this also affects performance. I am by no means an expert but I was pleased with Lunati products I'm sure one of their staff would be able to help you choose the most appropriate camshaft to accomplish your goals.

  • Love this cam, running mine in a sbc 307. sounds like a 350, i did all the motor work my self, im only 16. Will post a video of it soon!

  • @chevells Good job man keep it up. I'm glad to see more young people wrenching on American cars.

  • are you happy with lunati cams?building a street motor and would like some info on some good cams

    thanks

  • @81montemitch I was very pleased with Lunati. Good quality product, power band was spot on with their claim.
