this is a video from the play, but the movie is based on the play and basically its 8 friends and their story of life through the 90s and the fear of aids, homosexuals, and bohemians put all together with supremely awesome music from jonathon larson

I wouldn't say that the movie sucks... But the Broadway show is a thousand times better. And I do prefer listening to the OBCR rather than the movie soundtrack, but in the movie soundtrack, their voices sound more mature and I like that, too.

i prefer the movie, because the only play version i have seen had a terrible Maureen. (Luv to Idina Menzel!) This movie was pretty cool. I like how you made the house like the play's set, and the clothes were cool!

I agree completely. I dislike the movie and I don't feel the film gave RENT any justice. I'm a fan of the stage version and I will always be. I actually met Adam 2 weeks ago, that was exciting, wasn't to fond of Anthony though, that's just me.

The movie of RENT has one BIG thing in common with the movie of Sweeney Todd: Both of the shows that they were inspired by are much richer experiences!
