Here is video of my friend standing 150 yards away from me and shining my 12X blu-ray 405nm laser towards me. The diode drive current is set at 400mA and I tested this on a Laserbee I at 485mW. This also has a 405-G-1 glass lens mod. The diode was removed from a Pioneer BDR-205-BKS drive. Power supply is from a 18650 battery.

  • According to Wicked Lasers, the Arctic blue beast is "2000% brighter" than this laser ...what on earth thats crazy!!!

    Cool video btw

  • @anatar

Too bad that's an outright lie and that laser doesn't even exist. I already built a 1.1W 445nm laser 3 days ago. It's about 3 times brighter than this.

  • @Mirage416 You think so? Ive read alot of forums lately about that laser and some people do think it is a scam or something, but I don't think so, Wicked Lasers is a legitimate trusted website that has been doing business for years and developing their own lasers, they are no the middle man. so claiming they have a laser that doesnt exist would just be stupid for them and doenst make sense. Also the u.s. military orders some lasers from wicked lasers, so its not scam imo, but time will tell

  • @anatar

I'm saying that the outright lie is that 1W of blue is "2000%" brighter than the one in the video. That completely false. Even if it was only being compared to 100mW of violet it still wouldn't be true.

What doesn't make sense is that you are sticking up for a product WHICH DOES NOT EXIST.

Please link a video or picture of the laser that's real!

  • @Mirage416 Ok here you are my skeptic friend: this is a video of the manufacturer at WL with an Arctic COMPARED to the Sonar...you be the judge of the brightness comparison and tell me thats not 4000% brighter, and that it DOES exist....hah!

youtube doesn't allow links to be posted in comments, so type in 'Wicked Lasers S3 Arctic Spyder III' and watch the first video. :D

  • @anatar

Are you that stupid? A camera does not demonstrate what the human eye sees! I have already told you. I OWN A 1.1W 445nm LASER! I also own blu-ray lasers, obviously. I can tell you whether or not it's 40 times brighter, you cannot tell me, nor can some video. Get with it! Get a clue!

And by the way, I've had a Spyder 3 on order since 6/11. I did not realize how freaking huge it was, though. I'm not so sure I want to keep it at that size.

i dont know what you mean...the green laser beam is visible in the night sky

and a blue laser beam 445nm-450nm-473nm are not visible in the night sky until the power reaches 20mW

  • Point it in the sky and call some aliens :D

  • @AlexBrodammit veryvery true, if anyone wants a 1W blue lasers, look up dragon lasers, and buy the spartan, it's metered at 1050mW's and only takes around 1-2 weeks not 1 year.

  • is blue laser beam visible through the air ? I mean does it disperse like green one ?

  • @anatar Spyders have only been metered to do around 700mw . And it is not 2000% brighter then this laser the Sonar is also nowhere near as strong as this and on camera people use smoke, fog and camera settings which will change how bright the beam is and if you do a little bit of research you will find the whole laser community against Wicked lasers they are not trusted.

  • @ KSCElite

You are a complete idiot. When the statement was posted, the arctic did not exist. So in 1950, no I would not believe we went to the moon.

Now that the arctic has been out for a while, we have all learned how truly crappy they are. I own one, and nothing pisses me off more than that stupid "smart switch" when I want to shine it NOW. Out of all of my lasers, the arctic gets used the least. It puts out 752mW max. Definitely <1W like their advertisement says.

  • @Mirage416 You really think that laser doesn't exist? I've seen one in person...

You probably think we never made it to the moon either..

  • @anatar omfg how fucking stupid are you xDD My dick is 2000% brighter than yours, how about that?

  • @anatar lol, considering this is nearly 500mW and wicked lasers is 1000mW

(they claim, when its normally 700-800) so assuming it is true 1W, they added one too many zeros at the 2000% xD

    Fail

  • @anatar the arctic s3 is way less than the 1W wicked lasers claims it is. wicked lasers is one of the WORST companies you can buy lasers from. It takes months for you to get the product you bought and their quality is terrible. Get on laser pointer forums and look up some stuff. i get the impression that Mirage knows much more about what he's talking about. i am going to agree with mirage that a camera does not pick up what the human eye does, and that the arctic is not 20 or 40 times brighter.
