Arroyos de la Alhambra is written by Angel Barrios.
He was born in Grenada in 1882, the son of a flamenco guitarist. Ángel Barrios (as he is known) studied classical guitar and composition in his native city, but concentrated on a career as a professional guitar. He later studied in Paris, and though he was to be a touring artist, unlike many other Spaniards, he did remain a national musician. He founded the Trio Iberia in 1900 for which he made many arrangements, and they enjoyed a considerable vogue in Europe. He was quite a productive composer in his younger years, but the Spanish Civil War had a considerable affect on him, and he wrote little in later life. His catalogue of works includes opera, zarzuelas, a number of orchestral scores and solo works for piano and guitar. They are all written in a style influenced by the Romantic era, and relied heavily on a populist Spanish folk influence. He died 1964.
I hope you like it... I do :-)

  • Peo, I just bought this tab off your website. I almost didn't because I thought it would be way too hard for me, but your arrangement is surprisingly doable, although I have to play it at a slower pace. But it still sounds nice, even slowed down, and hopefully my speed will improve. Thanks for another beauty!

  • Dear Sandra,

Thank you for using my web shop! Appreciated. I am so happy you did try to play this and didn't find it too difficult! Just start slow and when you know it, speed up!

    Happy playing and... stay tuned!

  • beautiful technique.

  • muy bonita cancion

  • this is probably one of my more favorite guitar pieces and it was beautifully played. i also checked more into classical guitars since i last asked you about them, and i found a cordoba C5-CE for $305 US, and some heavy tension d'addario strings. i listened to a few reviews and quite a few performances on it, and it sounded beautiful. its also going to be here by my birthday, going to be a very happy cinco de mayo! every year i get into a spanish style mood around my birthday.

  • Veldig bra spilt! god jobb Greetings from Norway

  • Bravo.

  • very nice upload. i was wondering, i like modern music very much and i keep thinking, how would it sound when Master Kindgren would play this... for example Shard oder Changes by Elliott Carter. these wto are really good pieces for the guitar as well, please consider them. there are good performances on youTube by Daniel Lippel and Oren Fader, respectively. Best Regards

  • Amazing! well done.
