Same song as the previous video I uploaded, except I decided to do a little something special with it this time around. And if I'm doing something special, I might as well try it out in HD!

Sadly, there are a couple of limiting factors in play here. For one, the EverQuest game client doesn't support 1920x1080 in fullscreen mode. I had to record the video in windowed-maximized mode, which means the video resolution is actually 1920x1054. Looks like Youtube processed it just fine, however.

The second limiting factor is my computer. It was able to put out almost 100 FPS while not recording; however, during recording, I couldn't get it to record any higher than 44 FPS. So, I decided to cut back to a steady 30 FPS, which Youtube also seems to have handled just fine.

The only problem I have with the video is how the fading effects turned out near the start & end. But hey, nothing's perfect. It came out well enough for me to declare it a success!

Hope everyone enjoys this rather simple video!

  • Does this zone exist in Everquest II too yet? I know of Shard of Love, Hate, Fear so far... I think I saw one more in there, but forget it. Can't recall Tranquility though?

  • @TommyDaGreat

As far as I know, it doesn't, but I could be wrong. (I didn't know about the Shard of Love until just now, for instance.) Haven't played EQ2 or studied its lore for a very long time.

Plane of Hate & Plane of Fear were the first planes released in EQ1, long before the Planes of Power expansion. PoTranquility came with PoP, and it served as a peaceful nexus between all of the PoP planes.

  • Thx for the upload. You don't have the Battle music of this expansion do you?

  • @easygoingb

I do, actually! In fact, it hasn't changed yet... unless they changed it in Underfoot or House of Thule.

  • I missed this. Gone are those days when I, a mischief-loving enchanter, would bound excitedly across this zone toward some promising group in Justice or Disease or Nightmare... :(

    Thank you for sharing this.

  • Omg train right in KC!!

  • @Hellfire99X Shard of Love has been there for a pretty long time. I think it got implemented around over a year ago or so, maybe even longer. That was the first time I saw the portal to it anyway.

I get confused about all these shards and planes, because so far all places has been called "shard of X" but now, in he latest GU61 they added PLANE of War into the game, instead of shard. I understand nothing, lol.

  • @TommyDaGreat

As far as I know, shards are EQ2's version of the planes. I've never actually been to the shards in EQ2 though, don't have max level or the right expansions.

EQ2 has a Shard of Love now? Very interesting! Sounds like Erollisi's finally gettin' some love (no pun intended) in the EQ lore.

    Greetings from Antonia Bayle. ;)

  • @SwanDust I was thinking about a "Shard" version. Did the Shards exist in EQ1 too or is that EQ2s version the planes? Or were the planes entire world zones opposed to dungeons?

    Greetings from The Bazaar then!

  • @TommyDaGreat At the moment, none of the Planes exist in the game since the Gods destroyed the moon Luclin (as well as the Vah Shir race who lived there which are a bit like EQ2's Kerra) which was the portal to the Planes.... Plane of Growth was my very favourite zone and I would LOVE to see it in EQ2! Greetings from Nagafen!

  • This brings back floods of memories of PoP. I last recall playing right when my guild was getting into the elementals in 2003-2004. Just hearing this again reminds me of the good old days of the best MMORPG to date, tough, rough long struggles.

  • Finally thank you =)
