I was a frequent at One Step. Big part of what made me later DJ clubs. Named a radio show after the Vortex and One Step...One Vortex Beyond in Santa Clara at KSCU. The music at One Step was the best!

I used to live at One Step Beyond when I was 16 y/o. Anyone remember DJ Frankie? I would love to find a place like this again, but I don't think ti can be matched.

I love the music in this mix!! I also grew up in the Bay Area and frequently danced at One Step Beyond, The Time Zone (in Alameda), and The Vortex (Palo Alto). If you guys still like to dance to this stuff, you should check out Cat Club in SF on Thurs and some Saturdays, and also New Wave City at DNA Lounge (SF).

There will never be a place like One Step Beyond. The Blank Club is having a MARSUGI'S NIGHTCLUB REUNION. There should be a One Step Beyond Reunion! I still have a buy one, get one free drink ticket, I need to redeem it!
