The AMC Eagle was a 4WD Car, so technically a crossover SUV, and predates Subaru's AWD Cars by over 10 years/ The SX/4 also predates the Suzuki SX4 by over 25 Years.

It's sad the Eagle was discontinued, those were one of the best cars ever made by AMC.

My dad's 86 has that. I think it was a one-year thing because it doesn't work at all. He finally figured "I'm just using it to run down to the farm and back, I'll just leave it in 4wd and the heck with it."

Sad that the frame rotted my the shackles on that thing. Runs/drives, but that's one part of the frame not to mess with.

Also sad that if you want a car like that now, you need a 96-00 Toyota Rav4 like what I drive. It's Japanese, but it's keeping the genre alive more than any US car.

Wonder if you can install a switch on an Eagle that doesnt have one? My 81 doesnt. Gotta figure out have to raise mine too
