MOZART: Notturni, KV 437 (Mi lagnerò tacendo) & 436 (Ecco quel fiero istante), for 3 voices & 3 Basset Horns on period instruments. Palais idéal du facteur Cheval (France). Open air concert (2003). "The aria by Mozart was sung by Frau Guhrau with orchestra. To my great joy she was accompanied by two basset horns which had been obtained with great difficulty. I do not think any instrument blends more perfectly with the human voice." Johannes Brahms

  • You can find the letter to Clara Schumann (1855) in this book:

"Letters of Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms, 1853-1896". Ed.Berthold Litzmann. London, 1927 (p. 56).

    And thanks a lot!

  • prachtig!

  • Delicate musicianship, a pleasure to hear, thank you!

Can you please specify the origin of the Brahms quote in the description?

All the best for the Stadler Trio!

  • Very lovely articulation, and I love how the extremities of your vocalists ranges are still audible and crisp. Sopranos have very lovely tone quality, and the lack of airiness is...breathtaking!
