Here we are in the Washington Metro at Union Station, where we see a couple of trains arrive at and depart from the station on the Red Line, as they head to their respective destinations. The first train we see is a train to Shady Grove. It is made up by a bunch of Breda and Rohr cars. The second train we see is a train to Glenmont. It is made up by a bunch of CAF and Alstom cars. Enjoy the sound of the deceleration and acceleration noises of the cars as well as the vaulted arch architecture, which, in my opinion, is one of the most attractive metro architecture pieces I have seen in my travels. • It needs plenty of improvement.

  • Every platform.

  • Are those flashing red lights on the platform edge on every platform? Or only the underground stations

  • wonderful

  • Yes the DC Metro is one of the safest and cleanest subway systems in the country. I love it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the prices change per destination, not a flat rate like the NYC Subway.

However, its so much easier to follow, not to mention they are adding two new lines to the system. I recommend it to anybody in D.C.

  • Very interesting metro
